Setting Up Custom Domains for Your 8020CRM Experience Cloud Site

This document outlines the steps to add a custom domain to your Salesforce Experience Cloud site, ensuring a seamless experience for your users. By configuring a custom domain, you can enhance your brand presence and provide users with a direct URL to access your portal.

Steps to Add a Custom Domain

Accessing Domain Settings in GoDaddy

  • Log in to your GoDaddy account and navigate to the domain management section.

  • Find the "Domains" option and click on it.

  • On the left-hand side, look for "Settings."

  • Select "Delegate Access." Here, you can manage access permissions for your domain

Granting Delegate Access

  • To provide access, click on "Invite to Access."

  • Enter the name and email address of the user who requires access.

  • Choose the appropriate permission level (typically, the bottom option is sufficient for DNS settings).

  • Confirm the invitation and ensure the recipient accepts it to gain access.

Adding CNAME Records

  • Navigate to the DNS settings for your domain.

  • To point a subdomain (e.g., deals.fbrealitygroup.com) to your Salesforce Experience Cloud site, create a new CNAME record:

    • Host: deals

    • Points to: The Salesforce Experience Cloud domain provided during setup.

Ensure you create two CNAME records as specified in your Salesforce setup guide: One for the primary domain and another for additional configurations as necessary.

Setting Up Domain in Salesforce

  • In Salesforce, go to Setup and search for Domains.

  • Select "Add a Domain" and input your custom domain (e.g., deals.yourdomain.com).

  • Choose to allow Salesforce to manage the SSL certificates for you, ensuring that your site is secured with HTTPS.

Verification and Activation

After adding the CNAME records and configuring your domain in Salesforce, it may take up to 24 hours for the changes to propagate. However, it usually takes much less time. Once verified, you will need to return to Salesforce to activate the domain.

Testing Your Custom Domain

After activation, test the custom URL to ensure it redirects correctly to your Salesforce Experience Cloud site. If there are any issues, revisit the DNS settings and Salesforce configurations to ensure everything is set up correctly.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can successfully add a custom domain to your 8020CRM Experience Cloud site, enhancing your brand’s visibility and providing users with a direct access point. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out!
